• First Field Dressing is a unique bandage that soldiers can carry with them for instant application in the event of a serious injury where halting the flow of blood is of utmost importance.

• Because of the dressing's special design, an injured soldier may apply it with just one hand. First Field Dressing applies enough pressure to the wound to halt the bleeding, and it can continue to do so until the wounded soldier receives all necessary medical attention.

• The wound pad is composed of bactericidal, non-leachable silver. This prevents the development and growth of bacteria. It helps to prevent the infection in wound.

• The material used to make the wound pad is extremely absorbent. This can absorb liquid up to many times of its own weight. The dressing's great absorption capacity allows it to absorb and retain huge amounts of blood.

• The First Field Dressing incorporates a specially designed ridge that creates pressure at the bleeding spot. A further benefit of Ridge is the significantly lower risk of gangrene. Because the ridge's sides are pressure-free, blood circulation will continue to flow from them.

• At the beginning of dressing, medical-grade pressure-sensitive adhesive is included, allowing for dressing administration with just one hand.

• To make application easier and eliminate the need for additional materials to hold the dressing in place, a hook and loop fastener (velcro) is included at the end of the dressing.
